application made by the Eastern Extension Telegraph Company for permission to comect telegraphically the Island of Hongkong with British Kowloong by a suitable cable to be

laid across the Harbour, to connect one end of such cable with the Company's Offices in Honghong, and

to construct a line across British Kowloong to connect the other end with a line of telegraph to be erected

on Chinese territory,
